Anyway to remove knob bitmaps on some FSX gauges

Hi all
Is there anyway to remove the knobs from the HSi, VOR, ALT gauges?
I am setting up the panel side of my simulator, I want the gauges to appear but not the knobs on the screen if that makes any since.
I have open up the cabinet file where the gauge bitmaps are, deleted the knob bitmaps re compiled the folder using cabdir but the knobs still appear

In FSX and the 3D cockpits are all modeled with coding - you cannot remove them from your visuals.

Been a long long time since i've used a 2D panel , there is a way and specific today with photo you can make your own 2D .

I use "FS Panel Studio" for all my 2D panel work.... ...!

...but I wouldn't be without the important knobs (bugs) on the VOR, HSI, Alt, etc, gauges.... ...

They all have their vital uses...and I use them all the time!... ...!

As Ian says..you cant do much about the VC gauges, but you can experiment with various 2D Gauges!...(try different gauges).

I love 2D panels...you can do lots of things with them!

I am using rotary encoders to adjust gauges like vor adf alt hsi etc. I have built a face plate that fits over the monitor and just finished mapping and resizing the gauges to fit my panel bitmap.
The knobs on the VOR and hsi are still just visible so I was trying to figure out a way of removing the knob bitmaps only
