Unfortunatley you have to be a member to fly at Wigram and membership is for current and ex RNZAF personel but i do know of a really cool place nearby he can still bring the Harvard too

I am not sure of the exact details I believe the parks are sign posted. I do know of a park flyer down there that may be able to fill you in on the regulations if you are interested.
Here in Blenheim the council does not allow us to fly any models in parks, not even R/C cars. It is also illegal to hit a golf ball in any parks here.
There are other Clubs down in Christchurch although I think there flying sites are a bit out of town. I know there is on at Mcleans Island
Hence think Wigram would have been an ideal and even a brilliant controlled park ... Sir Henry Wigram would be proud off .. never no the strength of us armchair aviators ...
EDIT: love the photos ChrisLast edited by Ian Warren on Thu Jul 04, 2013 8:13 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I've flown many times as a guest at Wiggy it is good the only thing I find is there is too much wide open space, hard to orientate when you can not see any land marks when looking up

Hi matey thats sooo tipical of some councils if only they realised that there are sane people out there that fly rc, i understand about hitting golf balls but hmmmm also i don't know if you saw the news last night about the 20 yr old studant that flew his quadcopter around the city grrrrrrrrr now they are calling it DRONE FLYING and CAA getting involved that sort of thing p....s me off because it kills it for us.
Anyway happy flying buddy and next time your in CHCH let us know and we can go for a fly,
Cheers Brent..lowglow wrote:QUOTE (lowglow @ Jul 4 2013,8:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Here is a video taken at my club a while back of a new fun activity. COMBAT

No problem ....flatmates used to hate that beast ...flew (hover) it inside one night, it sucked all the loose paper out of the house, cats loved it ...not.

People used to do that with control line aircraft back in the old days. I bet with some creative thinking they could come up with a better and more realistic way of doing that.
Does anyone think that these videos are real?
