Certainly are high quality, thanks for the link.
Twin Mustang... wonder what its mission might have been?
It certainly had the range, but for what?
And not a trivial makeover, either; look at the undercarriage.

The photo caption for the Twin Mustang says

North American P-82B Twin Mustang (cn 123-43754) On 27 February 1947 the "Betty Jo" made history when it flew nonstop from Hawaii to New York without refueling, a distance of 5,051 mi (8,129 km) in 14 hr 32 min (347.5 mph/559.2 km/h). The aircraft carried a full internal fuel tank of 576 gal (2,180 l), augmented by four 310 gal (1,173 l) tanks for a total of 1,816 gal (6,874 l). Seen at the Old Air Force museum during 1958. (From my collection and not my shot)

After the Mustang series brought out covering every model so far i'm surprised the Twin is not up there already .
