so finally two weeks after my laptop s*#t itself I have my new desktop up and running with FSX, and what a difference it honestly feels like a totally different different game when at higher settings. although I lost most of my addons I am slowly getting set up again. I have included a couple of quick screenies but I am still tweaking the setup but with sliders maxed, majestics dash 8 and orbx scenery with rex extreme im still getting really smooth high framerates.

the specs for those interested
intel i7 4770 4.0 ghz
asus gtx 770 video card
16gb g skill ram
128gb ssd drive
1tb hdd drive ive got fsx on the hdd and its still really quick loading, compared to my old laptop
saitek yoke and extra throttle, trim wheel, and rudder pedals

I got lazy and bought it complete off trademe as I needed it quickly for work, whole thing new was over $2000 but included screen as well, and to be honest the quotes I got for components worked out similar for a self-build, the motherboard is an asrock Z87 extreme3. Overall its quite a big build but still smaller than some that I saw in shops and it runs super quiet and cold, ill put some pics up of the setup tomorrow if anyones interested.

whathesaid.gif I wouldn't mind buying a new PC (or second hand) sometime next year - would be interested to know too. Looks great so far.
