So I Pointed & Shot.
Avert yer eyes, Wing Commander, no denying it is impressively Big, but also impressively Quiet.

Got to admit I enjoyed the in cockpit video landing at SFO , only wish they had done something with the nose ! .... the 747 is "The Queen of the Skies" ..... this thing is "The gargoyle of the Skies"

Strangely its not that bigger , fact its smaller , same was said with the AN124 against the C5 but in lifting capability- the C5 was longer and bigger only by inches .. early C5 lifting around -MAXED 115 tonnes to the AN-124 lifting 145/150 tonnes , now been addressed with the C5M due to new power plants, people also forget the C5 being a good 20 plus years earlier .
In dimensions the same could be said for the A380 , fact is in cover size is smaller than the 747 and course the 800s are again bigger , its the return of the double deck and the carrying of more pax makes it bigger , course the weight , mind you if ya had a girdle like that ...... would ya not want ta loose it .. A380 won the fatty competition with a wart on the noseLast edited by Ian Warren on Sun Jul 21, 2013 10:26 pm, edited 1 time in total.

It also has a 20x zoom which is handy.
But it's still a Point & Shoot compared with Ham's excellent quality pics in this thread!
(Photographer also not in the same league...)
Ian: the A380 shades the 744, certainly from a passenger perspective it is just huge.
Sitting on the wing is like looking over the roof of a sports stadium.
And on the ramp the Boeing looks just... ordinary.[/URL]
I'm impressed with the Big Bus, the more I see it.
It flies beautifully, and is particularly quiet, especially when you think of its bulk.Last edited by Charl on Sun Jul 21, 2013 11:00 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Mister Blobby , the one in black , wider span wing, reason they keep bumping into things around the worlds airports the 800s are a couple meters longer and without a weight problem and don't have a wart shaped nose, not bad for a machine a good 30 years younger .... i can only now in my vision see a new "AIRPORT" movie trilogy come out were the light plane crash's into the A380 s nose and the entire theater cheers only to have a guessing 90 year old Karen Black jump back in the cockpit grab the joy-stick..

Would've taken you longer in my current love of all airliners, the -300; what a majestic machine.
Massive, too.
I sat next to an engine on a flight last week, bigger than many a commuterliner fuselage.

I think that how i put it in perspective to many looking at the 777s - cut a fuselage section out of the 737and plot it on the wing , best way to explain it to the couple looking at this CP over flying the city.

Sorry, I found a clip I took while waiting for the A380 above.
It's just hand-held so a bit bumpy, reminds me of the stuff I was doing earlier tonight in the sim at NZAA.
Surprised by the amount of flare:

Indeed ... As for the aircraft tug , these were regulars across most airports ramps in the NZ until the late 1980s, least very popular here in Christchurch , an American design tho the above has been modified somewhat but if you have books on aircraft carriers you would find these on the decks of the late in WWII on Essex class aircraft carriers and even on the decks of the larger Forestal class during the 50/60s - the Willy's Jeep of aircraft tugs/tractors
