'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

CP , Steve , pleased dropped in for lunch in Taupo ... those airport deli's can get a little over priced biggrin.gif .....

Ah I remember those halcyon days when I used to operate the dutch butter box through Taupo. It was all very civilised as the Air NZ airport manager would have a pot of tea and fresh scones made available in a nice sunny little room overlooking the tarmac. Turn arounds were a leisurely affair unlike today.
It was made all the better when on departure she would bring the loadsheet out to the aircraft and pass it up thru the open cockpit window. She was a well endowed lady, that dressed pleasingly, and from my vantage point........... ah hem .....I digress.
Great days and I loved operating thru Taupo with its challenging Alpha approach (in a crappy North easterly).
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

I guess Mikes 'Taupo' would have the best for your vantage point and ya cuppa tea and scones smile.gif

Yes from memory it is the first room on the left after entering the terminal from the airside. Probably changed now as I am talking some 25 plus years ago.

laugh.gif True .... and engines count . winkyy.gif Re the haze .... yes , i love it . That combined with low light (dawn or dusk) is where i like to screen most of the time.
