Perhaps next month Doug might give us cartoon month, requirements being that entries must result in "rolling on the floor laughing." ?

EDIT: I just have a thought -- just how strict is this? Does it have to be a 'T', or can it be a lower-case 't'?

Oooh! That's a bit sneaky Rob laugh.gif Lower case lets in Caravelles, and Hunters, with their cruciform tails...I'm sure Lewis Carroll wrote something about that biggrin.gif

Doug has ruled that the picture occupying this slot did not comply with the rules.

Luckily it is quoted so many times below that you will still be able to feast your eyes on the commendable effort that arose after AB got his hands on it.
Whether a joint effort is allowed, the rules do not say.

Ok, I've been doing some research. Obviously this won't be news to you, or to most here, but it will be helpful for people like me, who don't really know anything at all about aviation.

According to Wikipedia, 'a T-tail is an empennage configuration in which the horizontal surfaces (tailplane and elevators) are mounted to the top of the vertical stabilizer.' My 't' tail is really a cruciform tail, as emfrat pointed out, so I've disqualified myself once more. I suspect that after last month's V tails, next month we'd get 'cruciforms' so I'm planning ahead.

Wikipedia does give some examples of T-Tails, but I can't find any of these as freeware. Unless I get a reasonable Lotto win this month, I'll be in trouble. Any ideas?

Incidentally, this isn't the first time Ian Warren has led me astray. 'Tea towel' -- phooey! I won't be falling for that kind of trouble-makery again.

winkyy.gif From my original steam-powered placeholder: "As I'm sure you noticed, the fin/rudder is completely below the tailplane" biggrin.gif
That's all I was going on....
