Great trip down memory lane...
FS5 it was that gave the Sears Tower windows for the first time, looked just like your second shot, Ian!

In the Extra you could take off from Meigs, flat out at the Tower; pulling 9g fly up the side, and *just* have enough steam left to push over at the step before the final floors without CRASHING.
The sim would take ever so long to restart if you got it wrong.

How many take off's have i made from there ?..... thousands i think. And your right about the "friday" place , not sure about you , but mine starts midair unsure.gif whats that about.
Those were exciting days ... the move to fs2000 , no more square clouds (which i thought were great at the time) then 2002 , and onto FS9 .
It took me a long time to come to terms with FSX , mainly because of lack of PC grunt . But now , i live with both (9 & fsx) and love it.
jeez time moves fast , i recall the first (m/s) flightsim i had was on 3.5's and addons were about 200KB ! each , now i dont even think about a 1 or 2MB download ..... just think what they will be doing in 20 years .... lucky buggers.
