A Little Netiquette

Read and write about updates, changes, or any issues regarding the NZFF website and community

First off, let me say I am guilty of doing this on occasion, too:
You cruise by a Forum that you sometimes frequent, drop a comment or a question, and by the time you get back there, you may have forgotten about it completely.

Meantime, some kind soul has spent a bit of time answering you, maybe even done a little research to help, to add something to the forum conversation.

By ignoring this, you should know that person might NEVER help you out again.
If it happens enough times, they may even decide it's too hard to bother helping ANYONE.

SO: USE THE TRACKER

[/URL]

Every forum I've visited has this facility.
It's so easy, just click the button and the topic will pop up as you choose: email or reminder, whatever.

Makes it worthwhile responding to a conversation.
Who knows, you might get something out of it, too.

What it means is .... if you ask a question on the forum , and someone takes the time to provide a detailed solution ..... you reply.
Used to be called manners .... maybe thats not vogue anymore , along with silly old things like respect , and honesty .... ok , that may be a little over the top , but it seemed to work in my day.

Nothing against common politeness. Something which provides that facility without producing a bombardment of email is worth having. I'll keep it in mind.

Naki , this isn't aimed at you ... it dont matter if you never used it . You post a problem/ question ... you look for a reply .
I think Charl is being very restrained , and polite with his post , i have never heard of ... or seen (maybe i dont look) ... the "follow " thing either , but ..... you ask a question ... you look for a result.
As i said Nakiman ....not aimed at you, just using your post as a reply platform.

I have a recent dictionary and the word is not even in it .. but look at it , Aero - aeroplane type that in and comes with red underline spelling error .. just recent on another forum one mentioned the word tire , put tyre in ... and people recon i speak in riddle and jibber jibber ...

Manners .. well that really gets me .. my father was a bus driver for the CTB , rule number one was always get up for anyone older and give them the seat is what he taught me .... i'm on the other end or least midway and its me on the other side current and its a "pisss off this is my seat" .... and not so strange due to my location its a godboy girls school and they are the worst !
Most own the footpath in group rather inline ... i've studied this and see groups bowl people 30 years older than me in a walking frame ...

I can't figure , i keep getting told me word, lingo, english, word writing , people cannot understand .. some peoples brain cases maybe not as quick witted .. or maybe they have had a brain injury or simply a head case .

As I said: I have been guilty of this.

Good manners often just means paying attention.
Often technology helps, when memory fails.

Technology has nothing do with it .... nor does forgetting what you posted .... manners , nothing more .

My response (previous post) may have been a little harsh , sorry .
To give the benefit of doubt , maybe some people are a little busy to reply straight away.....

I noticed a thread which had started well over a year ago and been answered then and inactive since, being answered by Charl last week, to help a person with the same problem he had helped others with previously. Charl was able to respond to that sudden new activity in a moribund thread , because he uses the 'follow' facility. I am pretty sure that is the point.
