Good afternoon,
Have had to turn to you guys for help again please, this flight that seems to operate regularly into Wellington http://flightaware.com/live/flight/MDK2 can you please tell me anything about it does it use the "Air Doc" callsign or is one of flightaware's glitches that shows up for certain airlines. Im thinking its probably Air Wanganui Air Ambulance but would like to know for sure. Many thanks PB

Sounds like the Mojave Air Wanganui use as a backup when the C90 is not flying.

It will be Air Wanganui but their 3 letter designator that they are using which is valid for NZ domestic use only is allocated by ICAO to another operator.

Same applies for our Lifeflight callsign which uses a designator of LFT which is actually held by somebody in the Phillipines so we use it for domestic flights only but our Airwork (AWK) callsign is allocated by ICAO and when I was flying a Business jet domestically and internationally we used the Airwork callsign

Many thanks Ben and SA227 and especially thanks for the info re the Domestic/World ICAO and why airlines like that show up as Medic Air and Sounds Air is St Andrews etc.

One final thing do Air Wanganui actually use a callsign or are they just like most smaller operators and use their rego as the callsign. Cheers PB

Air Wanganui use Medicare 01 for the C90 and Medicare 02 for the PA31P when doing medical transfers, and the aircraft regos (MKG or WTH respectively) for any other charter work.
