That is nice. And I think Ian makes a good point about the quality these days, not just ten years ago but even with my old system a couple of months ago I'd never be able to see enough detail to actually take advantage of a proper 3D cockpit. Yesterday I got around to installing the Flight1 Islander and spent a few minutes setting up some EZdok cameras to make the GPS and AP more accessible, and in a short time I'd got the hang of the autopilot using the GPS flightplan. Trying to do that on my old system was an exercise in frustration!

Yeah, I normally set up a few internal camera views, since I map views to ctrl 0 -- 9 I can have up to 10 views, so depending on how many cockpit views I need (at least one 'normal' view, controlled by mouse movement, plus a few 'locked' views of various panels such as the GPS) I can map the rest to external views. Shifting a view is simple, but normally I like to do that while paused, as some of the keys used tend to do other things in the sim as well. So to 'walk around' I'd choose an external view, press '2' on the keypad which switches on view editing, and move around using the cursor key, page up/down to raise and lower the view. You could take screenshots as you shift the view around, or just 'set' the view by pressing '2' again.

While you are editing the view you'll hear constant beeping to remind you that you are in edit mode.
