Now can ya lift it .. , no serious it looks good and adaptable, close to the home flying thingy .. please don't go and sell all this .. we can't handle having you spending and bending .. just shows ya should have kept your old gear .. but saying that , having fun building that .

Actually Ian, This is better than the PFC gear without a doubt and yeah, really enjoyed the whole process. A huge thanks to all who helped me out (you know who you are). Oh yeah, Ian it's not even that heavy, lighter than I thought it would be but just enough to stay on the desk without tipping at full aft deflection.

The yoke system is a little high for my desk but I am going to get a suitable cheap desk and modify it accordingly.

Nice to hear it is running well..

I did notice something out of place though... You had DCS on your computer. You will have to wait for a bomber variant to come out before the yoke feels good on that one

Hehe, yeah, just that I went to install Prepar3d and the files were corrupt and seeing as version 2.0 is around the corner i thought i'd live it DCS. Actually it's good to test the hardware with it and it works well even if the turns and rolls are sharp.

In tat pic the yoke looks nice but the throttle looks more awesome once you powdercoat the yoke casing to match things will look sexy.

Will look into powder coating but for now will just enjoy the fruits of our labour.

Good ole spray can will do the trick .. ya still got a few things you may want to add , mount for comm's or autopilot panel , it dose look good but guessing idea's still popping in the brain case .

I finally got enough done on the renovations to clear the junk off the sim and get back into doing some work on it!!!!

easing back in slowly so had a go at something small to start...

The Artex ELT switch

Started with a bit of plastic from an old printer and cut it up



and filed down to size



glued some washers on



then cut out the rounded guards



stuck in a switch



and LED



then made up some stickers in MS Word



And the real thing



unfortunately the glue has showed through the paper as its dried so I have to peel them off and have another go.
(I hope these pictures come out big enough to see, it's the first time uploading on this new forum setting.)

Hell Bells! Craig, following the build and the end result that really out looking the part, a little ware and tare really made it look the part .. the real one just looks to fake ... so well done !

Now I wonder If Rhys aka 'nosecone' maybe able to take a leaf out of your book .... scouring switch's , I have had no reply as yet helicopter part but seeing what you created here maybe his best avenue.

I did consider leaving it with the "wear and tear" look but

do you really want to fly in an aircraft that has the really well used look

on the Emergency Locator????

finally got access to a printer with some ink left in it so tried redoing the front
of the switch again. Still not quite what I wanted but near enough that I'm not going to
bother redoing it again.

We had another using postimage the other day, a Warren aka "nzkingair" in the screenshot competition who had the exactly same issue , I recommended him to http://www.fsfiles.org/ , no mucking around , its a Flight Simulation screen shot site .

Click on the switch , it dose look great !

By the way ..... Its not bl))dy ..... that's Ianglish .... it spelt Bloody !

It looks like the Postimage plugin has somehow reset to thumbnails, rather than the full image. This was fixed originally, might have to be tweaked again.
