The new freeware Navion (available on sim-outhouse) is beginning to look better and better:

All my repaints for MSFS can be found on flightsim.to
Older repaints for FS9, FSX and P3D are on avsim

there were never any kiwi Navions, were there?

No there has never been any kiwi Navions. Nice repaints BTW
