FSX Acceleration Pack

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Pato » Wed Jan 15, 2014 2:31 pm

I received FSX Gold edition and have installed it all ok. I can't Activate Acceleration as there is not Product Key in the box.
Just one for "Flight Sim X Deluxe" and another for "Flight Simulation X XP". I rang Microsoft HELP and they asked me to input the first set of Installation ID?
Anyone got any clues how I sort this out please?.

I have an independent FSX Acceleration with a key above the CD .. must be some documentation there , not sure the packaging , have you tried to put in the same key as the first Product Key of FSX?

You do have 2 keys "Flight Sim X Deluxe" and another for "Flight Simulation X XP" have tried those even tho say's XP?

Yes I tried that. It said "The provided value is not recognized as a valid product", When MS asked me to input Installation ID are they referring to my Win7 installation?.

Yes just follow though to the directory, create a folder in your preferred drive and when asked for the directory click on to that , another change the Admin to XP , best we get an IT boy on to this , Daniel , Dean and even Greg .

You could be better off without it. angry.gif I'm sick of all the black vc glass because they decided to swap the alpha in sp2. Next time I re-install, I'm leaving it out.

LOL. I already had a copy of FSX Deluxe and purchased the Gold especially to get Acceleration.

I'm also using Win7 , I have two independent codes - one for my Deluxe FSX and the other for and with the key and Acceleration with a key code , I don't have the Gold edition as i brought each package as they were released , you have two product keys "Flight Sim X Deluxe" and another for "Flight Simulation X XP" , one would be for your FSX and the other for the Acceleration , labels maybe misleading .

Spot on Ian. Why didn't I think of that, I just assumed it referred to using XP but it obviously meant Acceleration as it worked. Guess old age is catching up on me. Thanks for your help.

I have just installed FSX and acceleration from a gold pack and the acceleration code key was an another separate card under all the other documents in the DVD case just a matter of looking for it.

And was yours marked "PRODUCT KEY Flight Simulator X XP"? I would have expected it to be marked ACCELERATION or was I expecting too much.

I'll second that. Now I have sorted that I have another problem, when I start FSX all my desktop icons decide to move around. Oh well, back to the drawing board!!

OIC. I am just getting back into FS after some years away and this is not a good start, but I guess it will keep me on my toes eh?.

I have only installed FSX and Acceleration so far, but if I can sort out the Icon problem, I thought I would get the VLC rather than Orbx, but I am still researching that one.
