Yes indeed , they are always down and hacked into - seldom do I go there anymore since the huge attack couple years back!, normally i visit PMDG and they use AVSIM as there base for the there forum and was out this morning so explains it .

Yea it seems that way !,..bugger I was looking for John Terrell's A-26 repaints ,..there are some on Flightsim but for some reason it seems most people put their stuff on Avsim,...I never liked Avsim, I find the site difficult and clunky to navigate . They need to move to a format like Flightsim if they want to survive IMO...

Ive always loaded to Flightsim.com since DEFON 1 smile.gif , I do wonder why people continually attack prominent sites just to get their jolly's .

Just readed a thread on the Flightsim.com Forums and it said that the AVSIM website had a hardware failure and are seeking technical support with their contractor as they are unable to reboot the website.

AVSIM has been down a long time, maybe this is collateral damage?
And maybe this time round, they'll accept a little help...

Yeah, its a shame, they've been hammered for a week or so now. As Rob says the library is fine apparently

Before i go ahead and say this i'm not trying to paint a target on my head or anything so please be gentle........I'm against the hacking/piracy that forever chips at the ankles of our great hobby but i will say this. I am a big believer in reaping what you sow. there has been times where i have seen comments from Avsim mods the are incredibly rude and one sided and banning people left right & center without the need for an explanation. i see a whole lot of brown nosing and who ever speaks up or goes against the grain gets flamed then banned, and i'd say there are a fair amount of disgruntled ex-avsim members out there. again i dont condone it and its annoying because its my goto place for flight simming but what comes around goes around. Phewww ok done now :-)

I was never really one who visited AVSIM due to its structure and never followed the forums but being a freeware site , ..... earn respect you get respect .... you could be right as I did see some weird address's and comments on the PMDG forum which is AVSIM linked .
