Your an inspiration Ian .... makes me want to pick up the pencil again.
Im not hijacking your post , but i dug these out the other day .... i had more , but exwifezilla ....
I was always interested in black and white , and in particular pointillism (lots of dots).
The pilot head was block mounted (as you did in the 80's) he's lasted well.

and very non aviation (almost) ....

Sorry that last one is so big .

Well with the extra time Ive had over the last couple days, this five week project is finally completed titled "BUZZ JOB" no marking on the aircraft as i was trying
out metallic texture on cartridge paper, not difficult to do but the paper texture is lagging - be looking forward to when my favourite copy center opens up to see a true result.

Nice I like that!

It was the red and white check's that had me transfixed to a book, it was only a painting but something glue like wallpaper in my brain case, since you posted that photo on the 30 Dec i could believe how close i got , got a few mistakes .. look and compare , the drawing is based on a Mk3

Thanks Dean and Sean, Idea's are really starting to get or come back me.. least the flow course getting back into what i did pre computer days very lost touch with technique but also found materials and canvas's do show a real change in how vibrant they show when completed.

I went for a hike to Riccarton Racecourse market , guess they have them all around the country ... now no where to go .. fact is on Sunday they run it , its from 9.00 AM to 2.00 PM ... arriving i thought WOW this is really a busy place .. everyone was leaving laugh.gif ... oh well figured i'd stop at good friends place around the corner ... Mark, i grew up with this guy and no's only to well my drawing of old .. told what i'd planned and showed him a couple of the latest , funny was Kelly his other half comes walking in ... by that stage having a few BB's and she turned around and says Nice Photo's !

Now that really chuffed me course Mark had to explain ... got there around 2.00PM .. got home six hours later cool.gif

Those Lightnings are absolutely jaw dropping! Awesome work clapping.gif clapping.gif clapping.gif clapping.gif

If I can be of any help with the website, let me know. These really need to start being sold and seen on display in people's collections!

Top stuff my friend, you've really excelled yourself with these latest two.

Thank you very much Ade, I was to get some drawings across to you, now have a supply of tubes, WEBSITE BUILD .. takes my brain away from getting into the drawing mode , the last two were an exercise in metal effect - panel by panel and it surprised me but have been out of the real drawing world for so long.

Well the beginning of WWI is still a few months of yet, in recent research this is one off three primary points in the history on the same day, this drawing is recorded as the first person
wounded in aerial combat on August 8th 1914 , now its very hard to find out what aircraft type it really was so this is my historical guestamation on the aircraft type possibly used .

Hi Dave, yes it dose - four pages on the BE's last page cover the BE12 which was no difference between each other than 20 mph extra performance, have few other books that cover the type also.

Absolutely excellent! I'm continually looking forward to seeing what else you come up with. While I'm not really a fine art purchaser (don't know where I'd put it), I still enjoy looking at it!
