I would never use WD hard drives - go Seagate Iv had 3 WD hard drives fail on me - they have the biggest fail rate of any brand hard drive

Rubbish Terry !!! you got some data to back that up?

Any brand has the odd model that sucks, WD is no different, but choose a cheapy and you may get burnt.
Pays to do some research before you buy anything, HDDs included. For those that want to do some reading you might want to take a look at...

Sorry to help - I was told this by a PC Technician - doesn't worry me, but everyone has their own ideas I guess.

Thats the trouble with forums

Don't be silly dude, just saying you really need to back up claims like that with some data.
I've had drives of all brands go kaput over the years. Have a couple of WDs in a mirrored pair at the moment so hopefully only one gives out at a time if you're right smile.gif

Things going 'POP' with PCs, no matter the brand , MoBo's for for example if you buy a 2Ghz its the same board as a 4Ghz , it simply when tested one shows a lessor power reading all due to the chemical construction, the best example is in LAN cable - go the wrong lay and it won't work and the cable starts talking (static charge) there by making it unusable, every brand has its issues - times even depends on the whether when its made ! .. just those weird electronic things .

For the most part it looks reasonably good. I would ditch the watercooler in favour of a beefier GPU. A stock i5 won't throw out much heat at all and since it's a non 'k' version you're not really gonna be able to overclock it. So there is not much point in the watercooler.

You'll probably also find that the Sound Card won't offer much, if anything over the one that comes on your motherboard.

In terms of storage, have a gander at Samsungs 840 series of SSDs. Really good, but in saying that there is nothing wrong with the Intel one.
I would swap the Seagate out for a Western Digital Caviar Black/Blue, Seagate have been plagued by reliability issues lately.

Ummm, I would suggest you take a look at upgrading to an unlocked CPU if possible and definitely throwing more money at the GPU. And I'm sure you can find a cheaper WiFi adaptor than that. This for example http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components...sp?partid=20477

YES MOST CERTAINLY!!! Great advice biggrin.gif K CPU is a good option for the extra forty dollars or so, just be sure the motherboard will support it
