Hi folks,
I do multiplayer with my son at the other end of the country. Up until recently he was able to 'share' my aircraft (Carenado) B200, sit in the right seat and help me out. For some reason he cant join me now even though we are not doing anything different.
He also uses the PMDG 737 and 777. I likewise cannot join him in the cockpit. We have not ever been successful at that. any thoughts from those that might have been there, done that ?

Other than that we successfully fly around in different aircraft together.

many thanks
Harold

Harold , one thing we could try is simply see if it works using another person, - myself - it maybe a glitch in either your or your sons PC , least if it dose work I may give some direction to the problem even only using a default aircraft to test.... maybe worth a try.

Hi Harold,

When you share the Carenado B200 can you still connect? I think you will find your issue is that PMDG products do not support shared cockpit capabilities.

Hi Ian,
thank you, very kind and I will take up your offer. timing will be a challenge as I have a pretty tight schedule and don't get much time to enjoy this hobby. If you advised some times that you would be available then we could work something out.
I use an IP address overseas somewhere (UK I think) and I talk to my son via Skype. I used to use another server but that closed down and I haven't figured out TeamSpeak yet.
kindest regards
Harold

Hi James
I used to be able to. And I believe you are right re the PMDG birds I think my son found somewhere that they don't. As Ian said it may be something in our set up that we have changed. Will keep looking. We still have lot of fun with two aircraft tho
thanks for your response
kind regards

Ian.... winkyy.gif ...!

As our usual NZ, FS Host Multiplayer Server for a number of years; INSpire [203.114.130.15] seems to have gone the way of the Dodo for some time now, I wonder what the latest NZ Multiplayer Server's name and address is, that the NZ Members generally use?

...and is it Password protected? Yes/No?

There are a number of FS Host Multiplayer Servers that we have used in the past all seem to have disappeared for some reason...no longer popular/used?

"Multiplayer" seems to have lost its popularity like it used to, in the olden/golden days...with trusty-old, FS 2002 and FS 2004 with FS Navigator!

I am around most days of the week on Multiplayer, popping from one FS Host Server to another, but I seem to be mostly on my own!

So...Ian....what is the current NZ Servers name and IP Address?....I may bring a bottle of California Napa Valley red Vino with me.... biggrin.gif ...!

Paul....FSX+ FS Tramp, and FS 2004+ FS Navigator..and a very pretty, speedy, turbo-charged, Cessna 150/152.....and a bottle of Vino...what more could one want?.... tongue.gif ...!

My usual Multiplayer Servers for FS 2002/FS 2004/FSX..>>> http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/

Hi Paul we usually host our own Multiplays with one of us setting it up and the others joining by using the hosts IP address and TeamSpeak for voice communications
Most times Ian sets it up but sometimes Greg (scaber) or myself will set it up it is just a matter of arranging it with whoever is available to join in and have a fly.

Hello Doug... biggrin.gif ....!

Ta for the reply!

The big advantage we found with "FS Host Servers", (like INSpire 203.114.130.15), is that they are on-line 24/7, so it is quick and easy to spot who is on-line, and then join in at any time!

We Multiplayer Flyers from Sim V and Aviation Café often used to join in with INSpire NZ flyers, on-line...Time Zone permitting!

Little or no prearrangement required...just connect to the IP Address!

Paul....Have Cessna, will travel.... biggrin.gif ...!

Paul , all this women's work .. least many say its "Multitasking" rolleyes.gif ... very sure all Harold wanted to do is test his shared cockpit but in general we MP via who's at home on the minute rather the other due, well currently most peoples are at work at the mo ... I'd better start my work day now - all these ideas flying around inside my brain case....

Course have lunch to prepare for my brother Rick , hes working around the corner - 100 meters and since he did a fantastic job sealing a wall its my best way to Thank him .... got a funny feeling now .. even if he was working the other side off the city he'd still run here for one of my special lunchtime Sammies.

Rick won't need a Cessna ..... Its more "Run Forest - Run" ... I mean Rick biggrin.gif

Hi folks,
thanks for your responses, most interesting. As it turned out, last night my son did get into the cockpit of the B200 (he had to be using the SAME aircraft, as in same livery aircraft) for it to happen.
We use an IP address overseas but will try out some of your suggestions.

I got onto the A2A forum to see if their magic C172 sim will let shared cockpit happen but sadly no, they said that the plane was too complex to allow it ?

That has been contested by a few posts so will see what happens

many thanks folks

kindest regards

One shared cockpit flight was with a regular pax pilot flying between Cairns - PNG and a few to Guam , Blake AKA 'waka172' made it a great experience and in a default 737 smile.gif
