Interesting HamWest, I didn't know it was possible to display non ABS-B movements.

Any idea how the data is displayed? Is it based off filed fight plans or is there another way for mode S transponders to be uplinked to the web?

Flightradar24 is looking for more coverage in NZ.

QUOTE
Hello New Zealand!

We need your help to increase Flightradar24's ADS-B coverage in New Zealand.

For this purpose we have 25 DVB-T sticks (low-cost equipment that can be used to receive and feed ADS-B data to Flightradar24) that we will send for free to New Zealand volunteers that:
- Have read through the instructions here http://www.flightradar24.com/dvbt-stick
- Have a Windows or Linux computer that you keep online most of the time
- Agree to use the DVB-T stick solely for feeding ADS-B data to Flightradar24

If you meet the above requirements and want to see better Flightradar24 coverage in your area, please send an email with your name and complete mailing address to fredrik . at . fr24.com[/quote]

That's just what I was looking for when I started this thread - ta very much.

Still exploring the workings of this, but my initial thoughts are that it refreshes itself, somewhere between every 15 secs / and or a minute, according to the instructions.
Seems to have a possible 5 minute delay - assuming flights take off on time. A bit fiddly to come to grips with but certainly shows the flights, very interesting.

Click on the header which takes you to a GE view.
