Have been rather busy with building.
Have finished several parts.
Now constructing the connections for stabelizing the wing floats.
The hull is partly covered with glass. Still 2 pieces glass to go on the rear bottom of the hull.
Than painting, glue windows and interior.

BTW I am flying this route in fs2004 flying the Short S23 Empire

Yes this one should fly; just do not know when as still a lot of work to be done.
Daily updates in my Picasa.

Here's a link to the building thread of my friend Bart who finished building his Short S23 Empire:

Hello folks,

Here an update of my building activities to the Short S23 Empire.
Was too busy with other things last summer so the project was delayed for a few months.

You can see the progress here: https://plus.google.com/photos/10778246 ... p6CC5uS4XA

During the last few days I assembled the engine supports (Still to be attached to the wing), and
tested the landing-light and nav. lights in the wing-tips.

Regards Paul

When ''things'' are going wrong with our sea planes we retrieve them by use of a special resque device:

Wow nice site Ian I love the Avro Baby. I have plans for an Avro 539 Falcon basically the same aircraft but on floats, was built to contest the Schneider Trophy but unfortunately didn't make it into the race. I'm going to build this model someday

Hi Ian, Yes indeed I love that site. Been looking around for over 1 hour allready and will return to-night for a further look. Very nice Empire models also !!!

Am still busy. Building is finished and still working on smooth surfaces before final paint.
Hope to be able to start with finish paint next week. Empire should be ready before May 17th, as than I promised the aircraft to be displayed
together with my other flying boats at an exhibition in a town nearby.

Regards Paul
