These are from an evening flight out of Hokitika (free from Godzone) with P3D2, REX 3 and Active Sky Next. Sorry about the registration, - it's part of the paint and can't be changed on this particular plane, a default Bonanza. These pics aren't about the plane anyway, they're about the weather effects, which are due to ASN. I like the layering effect of the successive ridges (like a Chinese painting) and the way the mist thickens into the distance, - much more convincing than P3D2's 'volumetric fog'.

Interestingly... unsure.gif I had an IFR clearance into Kaikoura but they kept vectoring me round in circles above the cloud base, at 2,800', so I had to bust down through the allotted altitude to actually see the runway and land. Bloomin' computer controllers angry.gif. Good thing I'm not a real pilot.... reckon they'd throw the book at me for that... rolleyes.gif

Some I should have asked you Scups is how well dose it emulate the North West sky, in Christchurch we get what is known as the north/west arch ... a very defining sky with a wind to boot.

Dani , its been a strange thing happening across the board, many forums I'm finding it has a little Icon and simply won't load , been an ongoing thing for the last week now come two.

Thanks smile.gif . I think with all that atmosphere the plane should be a flying fortress or a P51 something, - but nothing like that exists yet for P3D2. Shouldn't be too long though.

Ian, - can't see any pic either but I'd be very surprised if it could reproduce that kind of subtle local effect. It's more of a broad-brush area thing, although clouds do have individual properties, like precipitation and turbulence.

I'd love to see the Barber (see Google images) katabatic wind pouring down into Greymouth from the high ground, - but I don't really exepct to...

David.
