Only a little noise , the mail must get thru , some nights with a southerly breeze I can hear the rumble of freight trains, and they are 3kms away from me .... strange you don't hear complaints from people who live opposite to the rail lines or is that kept quiet ?

Exactly Ian!

I was in charge of this project and we could have operated at 3am quite happily, just not for the 3 weeks we required so rather than fork out for the noise testing the schedule was changed to 6am.

Potentially the odd metro might pass through as we will be using Nelson as a technical alternate at times

It really has gone, well mental! ... I would have thought Nelson is more populated and closer to the airport, ..... solution to the problem ..... people who complained, now there address's ..... hold back their mail for two weeks, bills or speed delivery ..... excuse simply,

Dear Sir and Madame,
Due to your request in the closure of the mail plane we have reverted back to
trail men with an ass carrying your mail and requested supplies, we add
another week due to the fact the ass/donkey may have thrown a shoe and
since this ass has more brains than you has decided to go looking for his or
her ass's shoe so your mail maybe a little late.
Regards Ian the postmaster.
