That was May 2007, in the middle of the drought. The 'bous used to come out in late June and stay out overnight in the frost. They also practised around the district at other short strips - YGAT was about 800yds long.
Good job none of the crews smoked - one butt would be enough to burn the airstrip and everything in /on it.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

And here's me in FS9 landing at the Ant's Aussie Airports[/quote]Mike is that still available somewhere for FS9 do you know?
It completely passed me by...

Marty: The 2 Rollus planes I know are the Mirage 2000 and Rafale.
Both stunning models but with strange quirks.
Not least, a standoff with Dassault about use of the name!
Not easy to find these today, if at all.

Charl, I had a look for it myself this morning, as it is not in my current FS Classic, and couldn't find it. I thought it was something Anthony did for VOZ, but when I flew in VOZ, the landclass was wrong, and I am now wondering if it came with Ross Casey's SE Qld coastal revamp, which is still available on flightsim. There is also some FS9 stuff in the VOZ section of the OzX site. YGAT was closed about a year after those pics, so maybe the author removed his files.
I will dig through my old backup CDs, and if it wasn't on the one that got stood on, we might be in luck.

sad.gif Sad news, Charl - overnight, the memory bank dredged up a post I made on the CBFS forum, in a discussion about ORBX, from which I quote below:

"It contains my original FS9.1 VOZ pic, and what I see now in my FSX FTX_AU. There are also some shots of a very ropey landing, by me, at the Gatton College strip, from OZx, and some pics I took of the real thing before it closed a couple of years back. It is very nicely modelled - humps, dips, cross-fall, and all."

The post was dated Oct 28, 2012. Didn't think I had been dabbling on the dark side so long ago. ohmy.gif
