Tonight while i was posting nothing really(here) , a real good mate is the process of dying.... bone cancer.
Not sure why Im even posting this ..... i just found out about 15 min ago .... he is emailing all his friends (maybe on behalf of someone else) to say goodbye. I havent heard from him for months , i thought i must have said something that pissed him off.... and i wish that was the case.
It just pisses me off , that good guys like him get a cr@p deal .... and all this scum we read about daily , gets away.
Just heard from his brother , he will be gone by morning .... sucks!

That really does suck Marty. Sorry to hear about that mate. It's pretty interesting the way people handle these things in their own way, and in ways we might not understand. Seems like some people like the whole world to know about their illness, some just prefer to slip away without making a fuss. I'm sure it's nothing personal, just their way of dealing with what must be a pretty cr@p deal. Chin up dude.

Not Jeff is it ,? .. He had many problems then when we met a few months back, I was so disengaged after Mars , think after years of rubbish I always stayed away from people, that's why you may see me as being so cold, but really remember other people only for some reason, the regrets .

My older brother died in Jan 2013, nearly three years after he was diagnosed with oesophegal cancer, which was "treatable but not curable". He beat the quacks' prediction by a good two-and-a half years. So we all knew, but he insisted on no fuss. Personally, if something bad is going to happen to me, it is best if it happens quickly, so that family and friends don't have a long period of worry. But my daughter says I'm an elephant, because I just go off into the jungle without telling anyone. Fortunately I have never been seriously ill - but I don't see the point in upsetting people when they can do nothing about a bad situation.
Hard to say what's best.

Mike , sorry to hear about your brother. (i wish i hadn't started this now) My mate was the real silent type , he would give the shirt off his back. He got me out of a few scrapes in the past , and was hurt in the process , but i never knew about it for years. He took this last fight on in silence until the very end .... how i dont know. Last time i saw him , he said he had "bloody arthritis" then he dropped off the radar , until a few days ago.
Your right , its hard to say whats best .... i guess it comes down to the person involved.
Thanks for the reply ..... this has whacked me a bit more than i thought it would .... cheers.
