Blurring the boundaries

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

No I'm not talking about the curse of the blurries but the blurring of the boundary between reality and virtual.
It just gets better and better with the bar seeming raised with each FS release.

Fly Tampa YSSY

Aerosoft Pilatus Porter Almost impossible to distinguish these cockpit images from the real thing.

Very exciting (and expensive) times for the flight sim addict. smile.gif

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Only re-installed the Twin Otter yesterday and equals that quality and the other supreme effort from Aerosoft in the same league is that Bronco cool.gif

There has to be some credit given to "the other" flight sim too. X-Plane is coming along nicely too.

With World2Xplane it's very easy to import OSD data for an accurate representation of the world. It can be quite stunning.

Out of the box XP10 looks awful. It takes a bit of patience to get it to a level we are used to. I'm still tinkering (that isn't my screenshot).

I believe that shot also uses an aerial image as a backdrop? (With the open street maps data over the top?)

Very exciting times, thanks for the heads up of the YSSY preview CP.

Guess it go's with all FS packages, patience is the primary.
