I haven't managed to get any work done for over a week, shifting house takes a lot of work when my flatmate has mountains of stuff in storage, and we've had to find a space for everything. Still, I'm very pleased with Diamond Harbour so far, except for having a day and a half without power, and no internet for most of today...

But I finally sat down tonight and had a look at some of the aerial images I've downloaded. Here's a look at Ruapehu and Tongariro, there's a lot of work to do blending etc, and I need to give some thought to a winter version, but this is just an idea of what you can do with the new LINZ images. Quality and resolution is variable at best, but with a bit of picking and choosing, it should be possible to have some great little photo scenery highlights to go with Vector Land Class or whatever.

Here I've used the full resolution image for Ruapehu (40cm, from memory) and half resolution (80cm) for Tongariro. I think I'd use half resolution for a release, otherwise the filesizes just get ridiculous.
