My eldest got a trial flight voucher for his 13th birthday....had the controls for most of the flight...he enjoyed it very much.....not sure whether the flying bug has bitten though

A wonderful Birthday present!
I fondly remember my 70th birthday present (10 years ago) trial flight in the beautiful Cessna 150/152 (one of my favourite, regular Flight Sim Aircraft)!
Many years of "Flight Simming" came in very handy for the flight, and even the Instructor noticed my flying skills during the flight!
I have occasionally repeated the flight a few times, but its getting progressively more expensive for an hour's flight each time!
One of those good life experiences that you never forget!

The last time I flew for real, was in 1956, for the British Army in Germany, in a gipsy-engined, Auster Aiglet spotter plane.

The experience/enthusiasm never caught on over the years, until Flight Unlimited II, Pro pilot '99, and FS '98 appeared on the shelves in all the game shops!
(Mind you...I did a spot of various Flight Simming with my Sinclair Spectrum 48k)....
Then my Flight Simming really took-off, and I have enjoyed the experience, every day, since!...fifteen years of my life...pretending!...

...!
(Save me from this madness...please!)....

....!

Touring the World for the price of fifty-Pence-worth of electricity!....

....!

(Much cheaper that a real flight from Heathrow to Wellington or San Francisco...and back again!)...

...!

Actually it was gift from his Grandad and Nan...yep wish I could reverse time sometimes and taken the leap but my interest in aviation when I could of done it wasn't there...then wife, mortgage and kids came along
