with the prospect of having to work until i am 90 (keep going gov that we can't vote for, and who will retire at 50 with full perks for rest of life) i say get the latest and greatest a/c the air force can, but instead of cutting the pension and raising the retirement age, how about getting rid of the bloody polly perks they get. after leaving office, make them go and join the working class and make them retire on what they seem to see fit to give to the pensioners now. that would save money and also make the pollys realize what a load of B.S. they are piling out now. don't get me started opf the $1b they are giving to the climate. Australia need to have these a/c, with the current rumblings in Korea, and Russia to a certain extent, australia is big enough to be a big time threat to the local rif-raf and keep them in line. plus i might also get to see some of them when i am out at Amberly with work, love watching the super hornets do touch and goes, marshmallows any on

personally i don't think manned combat aircraft will ever be replaced, a person in the cockpit can make real time decisions in an instant and react to threats around him, not just what you can see though the lens. unmanned a/c have there uses but they aren't a replacement for everything
In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.
