I do like that planform shot... imagine it 4m across, and adorning a wall!

Some random thoughts on the random shots, and the RC-135 connection...
The recent transportation disasters, Flight MH 370, and now the Korean ferry with all those kids lost, made me think of Korean Air Lines Flight 007 shot down by the Soviets in 1983.

The Soviets were convinced Reagan was going to pull the nuclear trigger, and had an ICBM test underway when this plane blundered into and out of, Soviet airspace.
There was an RC-135 in the area, having a look.
Arctic gales had knocked out Soviet radar ten days before, and so there was a little fuzz around vectoring the fighters onto the intruder.

It's a measure of the tension that existed at the time, that they elected to shoot it down without positive ID.
The world stared into the nuclear abyss one more time, we didn't at the time know how close.

Charl , thanks for looking. I have to admit with all the tension in and around Ukraine at the moment , things feel a bit cold war-ish.
MH-370.... VERY very odd , maybe they are looking in the wrong hemisphere .Its hard to sort out any real facts ... media post the "what we know" stuff , but that varies ..... i dont know.

DashCap .... im not using anything. Those statics are part of the scenery at Orbx Jackson hole .Thanks for looking .
Could be the last screens for a while .... ive got a major problem with the old puter .... bugger.

Snazzy Screens , course the Stratofortress is so smooth cool.gif ... Now that is one thing I have seen was a KC/C-135 plugged up on a passenger terminal in Brisbane back in 1988 and not so different a KC-10 plugged up on Melbourne terminal in 2001.

Your B-52 is simply so docile, except when the bomb bays open up and the extra wing pylons loaded ... least a Vulcan is or appears to be much more aggressive and with the noise to go with.
