Flying Correct Approach and Depature Procedures

Just wondering how your approach files differs from the stock (or is it Orbx, or VLC??) RNAV at TU that I already have in my sim? All the legs seem to be in the right direction and at the right distance according to the latest AIP 45.2 page for Timaru?

However, even running that French website MagVar fix- all my GPS directions show in degrees true rather than degrees magnetic under the FPL tab. For example, TU has -24°E variation, yet my Garmin 530 displays all the RNAV legs in degrees true, although confusingly followed by °M as seen here:


Any ideas what's going on?

That will give you all the information you need to make the correct and safe...and legal, manoeuvres!

That s when you need to try MP and maybe a carrier landing , freeware TS - freeware aircraft carrier (Bruce Fitzgerald) and lets find out how your PC works without the clutter off the land .. you would have most aircraft , I was normally the carrier driver and with the Carrier Aircraft - VS being most popular, with Avenger, Dauntless, Hellcat and A2As Corsair .. out at sea makes it smooth for the PC/system .

As I said I was the carrier driver, that was fun in its own as a ATC controller .. handing out waveoffs .... we had KC, Blake , Greg , Mike , and a few others , Me as the CV6 USS Enterprise driver I thought was brilliant and good thing is the lower end PC can really handle it .. put you in as a Captain and ATC- wave offs and control .

Whilst it does look as if your GPS is programmed correctly and indeed indicating in Degrees True, I think the actual problem you might be experiencing may be due to UNTAT being mislocated - might pay to check the coordinates!

The reason I say this is because from RW20 out to 1000', the track of 198 Magnetic is correct for the RNAV 20 approach - one I'm fairly familiar with, having completed an MEIR on it not 2 weeks ago! Just a thought, as it does seem correct (the tracking) through the Missed Approach sequence........
