NZWN scenery to use with Orbx NZNI

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby Kamoflarj » Sat May 10, 2014 1:27 pm

I've had a look at the pinned topics and It recommends RealNZwellington, but from what I can see it's not available anymore and the imagery is a bit outdated. Is there anything else available that works with Orbx NZNI?

I didn't quite understand what you just said. Should be no reason to use Real wellington?

I think he meant no reason not to use RealNz

I noticed it was missing too, that's because it is freeware now.

I stand to be corrected, but isn't there a new version of Realnz Wellington in the pipeline still? I have the old version but not installed it on my latest rig and hope that the new Realnz Wellington will turm up in time for Christmas. Orbx are still mumbling about doing Auckland but it appears stalled at this stage and they won't ever be doing Wellington.
The current version of Realnz Wellington although dated is very good but to save any grief install/uninstall bla bla bla. I would tend to wait for the new one. Your call

To be corrected , primary and large airports take there time to build, this "grief install/uninstall bla bla bla" is typical with anything in adding and and deleting , Id install this current freeware and use it .

Yeah, it's unfortunate that we have a lack of high quality payware airports in NZ. But at the same time we are a small country so the market for such airports probably isn't all that big.

Was a time I built airports, I researched , sourced photos and built the models, none of this plop and play using library objects, I may get back into it and I make not.. and i did it for free.

The best scenery I have found so far is Orbx mixed in with the Christchurch scenery that i got from Ian. I was flying over the porthills, I also use the Opus weather engine. When it's sunset in-game, it looks stunning. The only improvement i an think of right now, it is that i t needs sugar loaf and gondola models added to it! smile.gif
