vPilot

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

I've decided to give VATSIM a go and thought I'd use vPilot, rather than SB or FSinn, but that's proven to be my undoing.

I am getting an "Invalid CID/password" error followed by a disconnect whenever I try to connect to the VATSIM network (VATNZ). The CID and password I've entered in the vPilot settings screen is my VATNZ/VATSIM membership number and password. I know it's correct as I tried it to log on to the VATNZ website.

Have I missed something? Am I supposed to be using another usercode/password other than my VATNZ one? Has anyone used vPilot and had a similar problem? I am trying to connect to the Oceania server, if that's any do with it (although my understanding is that it shouldn't be).

In the last few weeks, months seem to be an issue, couple of us got a MP running this last weekend, it work then decided to throw us out .. something currently going on causing the problem , be good to get someone here who regularly uses VATSIM and see if they have an answer.

Ive run multiplays for years, something has gone wrong somewhere .

I'm not having any probs connecting, using my usual VATSIM password, and connecting to the Oceania server. Have you tried FSInn or SB since to see if its some network issue?

I just tried SB and got the same error. It would appear my usercode/password is wrong. Is the uc/pw not the same one you use to sign on to the VATNZ website? I've just signed off VATNZ and back on again and know it works for VATNZ. The usercode I've got is a 7 digit number, with a 6 digit password. I'm officially confused.

Hhmm for what it's worth my VATSIM user and password are both 6 digits. Are you able to log onto the global VATSIM website (not VATNZ)?

Yeah VATNZ use your regular VATSIM user ID and password so if it works there it should work in the new client as well.

The problem turned out to be that my VATSIM usercode had expired. Reactivating it simple enough, but be warned that it seems to take a bit of time (days) to propagate through the VATSIM network. Just to make this even more confusing, I could log in to the VATNZ website and some of the other VATSIM multiplayer servers (ASIA and US-W) with the credentials in question.
