They have really outdone themselves this time....more character and features than the 172 and just a bit sharper. I see that a T-33 is next and another warbird TBA. Some pics from my first cross country flight around PNW. I still need to get the hang of landing it as it doesn't want to flare like the 172

Nice shots of a nice aircraft. Yes I would have to agree it is one up on the 172 with the worn out undercarrage. Hard to sum it up but It just feels so right in so many areas. You are right about being different in landing, but I have had a few hours of practice now and feel that I've got it licked. Hope you enjoy many happy hours with this little gem.

Good show case , it feels like the aircraft, I preferred the Piper to the Cessna and this one has that affect.

I am rated on a PA28 and I have always struggled with the flare, and having the same trouble on the A2A version as well. Very realistic.

Try removing a notch of flap on landing. Approach slightly faster, it might help you to not have an exaggerated approach as the full landing flap can give. Advice for sim only...consult your CFI for your RL flying... winkyy.gif

Another trick that could help is try putting one of the wheels down first, much the same as a crosswind landing.

Due to the low wing you could get in ground effect and dropping a wing could help remove the effect when you touch down.

Thanks for the tip...I seem to have got the knack I think, as my last few landing weren't bad. I also need to check what trim settings are needed on landing too

Naki , what sort of "over the fence "speed are you looking at ? ..... i find it hard to slow the thing down , mind you , i tend to float up a bit in the circuit .... so a bit of pitching down with resulting forward speed ...... arghh , practice , practice ... dont you just love accurate flight dynamics . (and i never thought i would)
Now i know i cant really land a B-52 , because of a well thought out little Piper .....
As you know im mainly in the game for screenshots , but this little Cherokee has got me bedazzled ..... worth every cent.

The only thing that worries me, is the fact that it will corrode even with your computer turned off sad.gif .... now that is Accusim , clever buggers .

My over the fence speed is about 70 mph (the ASI is in mph)... I have since been told that it should be 80 mph. Cherokees are well known to float a bit on landing.

Talking to my Dad last night, the Cherokee 180 was one of his favourite aircraft he flew so I'm keen for him to have a go on this when he comes down next.

Its all in the approach, first time onto West Melton grass strip in a N/W .. I was told a little to heavy but nailed it .. the A2A model dose exactly that, to many hours on the FS-PC in the old days I guess.

Remember doing a few circuits in my gumboots back in the 90s in Hoki in a Cherokee CEQ.Given that, I thought it a more docile beast than the Warrior and Tomahawk that I completed my PPL in.
