Sorry Guys Im not going to comment on speculation or provide a running history /updates

As 99.9% of the people involved we wont make remarks about this, as we can post something thats only opinion and before we know someone has taken it the wrong way and says its gospel and worse case it could end up in the media or social media mentioning myself quoting something I said that is or has happened.

While media reports are 90% factual, they still need to sell papers and can be written by someone who has the least knowledge on the subject

My suggestion, is get your information straight from the rescue coordination center's website that is open to public view and make heads or tails out of that yourself, not from someone who is trying to make money for their company

Better Airline Tracking Announced

I believe is told with the early airline tracker going back just after 9/11 had a 5 minute delay the fear terrorist could target the aircraft (silly excuse) they have had to wait five minutes rolleyes.gif

This is good for both the safety, large per cent of people watching and as a hobby for the plane spotter at airports .. two way win .

There is a very simple solutions to this very simple problem.

1) Remove the ability for the transponder and associated systems to be turned off from the cockpit. Automate that function so it starts when APU is started and only shuts off when the engines stop turning.
2) Build in a GPS unit into the ACARS system as well
3) Finally, there is a black box that can be mounted in the tail that floats, has it's own solar powered battery and will keep pinging (It also automatically ejects itself in the event of crashes). Airlines opt not for this box due to it's cost but I think for flights like MH370 (Medium to long haul over water) it should be mandatory on all aircraft operating them. The cost of a human life shouldn't be measured in monetary value, let alone the cost of 300 lives not found...

Simple problem, simple solution. Too bad our "experts" don't come up with the process and implement it...

I think it comes down to the fact that the pilots are not spose to go rogue on ya - in keeping the thought .... well be another test to pass for you newbies out there ... and the current .. a Psycho Evaluation test every three months blink.gif

Speaking about missing aircraft .... we hear nothing about ZK-DJB , that little blue fella that disappeared up north. Is there an unofficial search still on ?

Unfortunately Ian in EVERY accident that has ever happened the underlying value that has always featured and played a part is the human factor. Whether it's direct human error to lack of attention, to maintenance shortcuts, or a rogue pilot. It's the one factor you can't actually plan completely for. You can only minimize possible damage that could be created from it (And no I don't mean remove humans from the equation totally)...

For a cheap solution or part solution....couldn't you just include GPS coords as part of every ACARS message and pings? The aircraft's already got 2/3 GPS units already

Funny those famous "underlying value" words bit like a "flip flop" .. trouble is all this was intentional - deliberate - done - cooked - and stewed and that was not on the in-flight menu ..... Reason they cannot find that menu list - so strange cos I was wonder what the "underlying value" of the dish's would be Hmmmm unsure.gif

Intentional or otherwise, the underlying value is still the same, the human factor. And in this case is the only factor...

Reason for the Psycho tests and maybe personal follow up on the drivers who drive those big metal tubes with metal things with hanging out each side up in those big white puffy .. Hic! things .. bit like testing the famed pilot 'Foster Brooks' ... had he been at the helm ... "Oh don't worry it'll turn" they would have found it by now. Hic! winkyy.gif

Just heard that people are raising a US $5 million (NZ $5.8 million) reward for anyone who solved this mystery.

I have come up with this statement that if the plane is found crashed, this would be one of the worst crashes in aviation history. But if the plane is found intact or tracked or landed somewhere, I think that the pilot who flew the 777 off course should be hanged and executed. dry.gif

I'm more of the opinion that if they ever find this plane they will find other missing things like Jimmy Hoffa's briefcase, every missing sock in the world and that blasted Waldo...
