This seem to look a very rare happening, but this happens at least once a month. A Russian Tupolev Tu-95 'Bear' flying through Dutch Airspace. They've been doing this since the cold war, flying a heavy bomber over Poland, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, the UK, Ireland and even the US sometimes. Just to show off what they still can or to check the alertness of the NATO countries. The Bears are always escorted by the NATO countries when they fly over Europe. Enjoy!

They only do it because Switzerland has extensive noise control laws and the Russian economy can't afford the fine so they take an alternate route... thumbup1.gif

Bears have been keeping NATO on its toes since the 50s.
Who will get to the scrap heap first, them or the B-52.

Now that would be a competition , I would say they Russia is running at the MO ... maybe, ...... but looking at the hull hours on B-52s would win BUT the BEAR ...

Yeah, but, but bears hibernate half the year, so you should really look at cycles laugh.gif
BTW, I once went to a circus and they had a bear on a unicycle, but that probly doesn't count tongue.gif

It is impressive to compare the airtime off a Boeing and so little cycles , this is were I'd love to get my fingers on Bear STATs
