Looks like Air New Zealand Link have been upgrading transponders on some aircraft. Have picked up a couple of Dash8 Q300 and a Beech 1900 the last couple of days on FlightRadar24. Looked like test flights with the strange flight numbers and the tracking involved.

This is were I say these transponders should be mandatory and not able to be turned off in the cockpit .... have it connected to circuit , soon as the engine is off the beacon shuts or compressed eloe's , makes good cents .. today everyone tracks aircraft, so when something gos awry , someone would have eyes on it .

It is good to see the increase, funny one outfit I did work for 2005/6 new I was into this sort of thing back then it was a an independent box that sat beside your PC and on outrageous cost , the more you put in the sky the more interesting it will get and in a few year don't the road it will interact with your home simulator along the same lines as your real world weather.
