PPL online training?

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Kamoflarj » Wed Jun 18, 2014 4:47 pm

Was hoping to find some sort of online course that i could follow. Do the practicals on the sim obviously. I have a flight manual for a piper tomahawk (PA-38) from a friend who's a PP, would like to have some sort of course to follow and use this plane to practice on.

Buy the NZ Flying Training Manual and work your way through that perhaps.

That would be great thanks. Where did you get the flight lesson briefs? I am also thinking about buying the PPL kit, from waypoints.co.nz

Got the briefs from the flight school im at in feilding, if you are going to undertake a PPL then the pack is worth it otherwise if you are just simming then it wont serve a great deal to you, if you do want to get books from there to put to simming use i would get PPL Tech and Nav and CPL Tech and POF.

Heres the link to the briefs https://www.dropbox.com/s/a90udl5haymrb ... Briefs.zip

In the meantime you could do the lessons in FSX.
Student pilot, Private pilot, Instrument pilot, Commercial pilot and ATP.

Not quite as good as the real thing tho.... cool.gif

It is surprising if you have a very good model simply how close you can get it with proper setting up .

I have found the payware planes very good for training (PMDG 737 for IFR, RNAV) (PA38 FOR VFR circuits) No offense, but Rod Machado took me through a very patchy PPL Syllabus.

LOL yeah patchy would describe it. But, better than none. When I started my PPL I used the book -
Ken Fenwick home study course. Seemed to be great, it may be a bit dated now but still very good.

Same as this one. http://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/aviation/a...n-374000058.htm

You may pick one up here or there = Good luck smile.gif
