Argh yes Kit Carson ..... i was in the Air Force with a "Kit " monroe ... nice chap , not sure where he is now.
What is "Kit" short for anyway ?

I think Kit was His actual middle name (Leonard K Carson).

You know... if most people posted this meany pics of the same aircraft i would get really bored. But your mustang shots keep me coming back to see the lastest shot is....

SP, "Kit" is a fairly common abbreviation of "Christopher" - you don't see it much these days though, since "Christopher" is too hard for today's teenage parents to spell, and of course there is no TV star on the vegie channels using that name either... sad.gif

Bit of a mistake here, on further digging that is the 328th FG aircraft but also the 352FG carried the 'PE' fighter group - were the Famed 357th was Bud Anderson's and Chuck Yeager's group and this is were "Kit" Carson joined the squadron pre Xmas 1944.

I was going to say something .. Kris Kristofferson ... but they all OK with a 'K' just to hard to spell it with a "C"
