Im a collector maniac ... now im into 1/6 scale Military weapons and figures.
Anyway , my first "scale figure " arrived today from the states ... USMC rifleman (Afghanistan ) amazing detail .... spooky really.
So i get him all unpacked and dressed .... one of the girls spotted it and said "what a cute doll " ...... cute!! ..... doll !!.... I tried to explain that this is indeed a highly detailed scale replica of a current combat solider ..... then another one came home and #1 couldn't wait to tell her "martys got a doll "
Their rent just went up , and Im hiding in my room .

Jim is NOT a doll dry.gif ....... dont even go there Ian laugh.gif I retract all those things i said about the thunder birds , their real mate.

Ignore them Marty, I'm with you on this one.

I got blown away by the details of some of the figures out there. If I may suggest, have a look at these videos (I'm a big fan of this guy, he's a true World of Tanks guru). His "man-cave" collection is pretty awesome, and he does the full un-boxing to showcasing thing.

@Ian ..... the thunderbirds are real mate ..... yep .... alive and living the high life in a Florida rest home .... really winkyy.gif
@ Bazza ..... your getting to know me ..... that concerns me a little laugh.gif

Anyway , all's good .... Im comfortable with my new interest , i seem to have a new every week .... but thats good.
I haven't been around much due to work . Ive been working on a demo site that was a bit sensitive , so most of the initial work had to be done late at night , out of the public eye as much as possible. Its down now , but the clean up has a time frame , so its been 13-15 hour days since last saturday ..... today was day 12 in a row i think , next day off is sunday thank goodness.

Ive been shouted at , had a brick thrown at me , called a vandal, ..... and Im only there doing the site safe stuff..... ahhhh, emotions run high in the shaky city. But if it cant be fixed within a budget , and its a health and safety risk ..... sorry , a 50 ton high reach with jaws will sort it out real fast .

And , just to finish ....... its not a doll cool.gif

I've actually done some research on gender bias in the field of simulation. I'll share some of my conclusions here, as they might be relevant.

Dolls and flight are actually gender equivalents, males prefer the technical aspects of aviation, and females prefer the social aspects of doll-making and collecting. So a doll is a person simulator.

The best place to be for a well-balanced life is to be somewhere in the middle of the scale, although it is normal to be somewhat skewed towards the preferences of your own gender. So if you graphed the love of dolls and flight simulators for each gender, the healthiest place to be on the graph is clustered around the 75% point for your gender group.

Co-incidentally, the y-axis of the bell curve also represents your chances of getting laid.

Remember, though, that most of the range can be considered 'normal'. In fact, it would be quite normal, and healthy, if Marty's action figure liked to relax after a hard stretch in the wastelands of Afghanistan by putting on a nice black dress and some high-heeled pumps which showed off his muscular calves, and made him feel pretty.
