Jeff -- funny you should bring this up, I have been putting together a subscriber site, and one thing I've covered is the ability to request/suggest an airfield, as long as you can supply a few photos. So I'd say it would be entirely likely that you'd get your strip included. Initially, just a location would be a good idea, so I can check the available aerial images.

If this can lead to a couple of sales down the track, then I'm all for it.

Sweet, weather permitting I'll be out for a lesson tomorrow, so I'll try to remember to take the camera with me.
Cheers Rob.

Just a quick update on progress. Just a couple of days away from the first subscription release, but today was a public holiday, and not only am I a member of the public, but my son and grandson popped in this morning, so that took priority!

I've tweaked the installments a bit, following a lengthy tirade from a business 'adviser' over the phone today. They might seem a little complicated, but it is quite simple really -- the idea is to match the 'value' of a month's releases, and divide the total price by this value. So the value per month is $20 (yes, it works out at only $8.33 per month, unless you paid half price last month, which shows how great the value is:) and you will need to pay your installments by the time the value received equals the total price, which is September 2014, no matter when you buy the subscription.

I know, I know, but in reality this just means that you can arrange installments as follows:

In June, which is this month, if you didn't notice, you can arrange 5 installments of $20 per month;
In July, you can arrange four installments of $25 per month;
August will be 3 installments of $33.33 per month (hey, you save a cent!);
September will be 2 at $50;
October will be a single payment of $99.

Got that? Basically it means that the earlier you get in, the easier the installments, but you will pay the same amount in the end, give or take a buck.

If you visit the Godzone Development site, you might notice some changes as it morphs into a Subscription site, stay tuned....

Cheers, Marty, but I'm talking about installments here -- you paid the one-off price which means you've paid up until this time next year.

Mata Airstrip near the Springfield NDB (more info and pics here) would be a good simple one, if the fences and hill at one end, and the powerlines at the other could be accurately placed.

Kauri Mountain Airfield on the Whangarei Heads would be another goodie- pics and info on the same link as above, although I also have this grainy cellphone snap from overhead. 350m one way uphill with a 4% gradient. Bit of a challenge!

And I know this was strictly a suggestion that airstrip requests may be taken for subscription inclusion, but it would be great to see some local harbour areas watermasked with the high quality LINZ imagery. Some of the bays along the upper North Island East coastline have great tidal variations that's really noticeable from the air. Whangaroa Harbour near NZKK, the Whangarei Harbour which I've mentioned before on the forums, the Whangapoua Harbour (behind Matarangi on the Coromandel), along with Whitianga Harbour, Tairua Harbour (Pauanui) and Shelly Bay (between Matakana Island and the Bowentown Heads/Waihi Beach) all look specular at low tide with different depthed channels and mangrove banks exposed.

The Coromandel is certainly on the short-list for a large-scale area, although I'm working on something else for the next photoscenery after the Alps -- I'll announce this at some stage...

Hello Rob,

I came across this page which says it has an error and to advise you

http://www.windowlight.co.nz/store/index.p...=page&id=73

Now that's done.

I have a question regarding the subscription series, and while I understand that photo real is formed from a particular place in time, is there any future moves to enable seasons to be applied?

Cheers Sonnyj

Cheers, my web hosting company are looking at the Store at the moment, I was hoping it would be fixed by now, sorry about that.

I have mentioned seasons before, but here's a quick precis:

I would certainly like to 'winterise' the Alps scenery at some stage, but apart from that there won't be other seasons, for two reasons.

First is to do with the quality of the source images -- some of them barely have enough colour detail to make a good summer image, so adjusting this for other seasons would leave very little 'photoreal' realism. However the vegetation will change with the seasons, so in areas with the most vegetation you will get a good semblance of seasonal change.

Secondly, there's the file size. At the moment I have released 2 issues out of an (maybe) nine in total, and so far we have 1.8GB, so we might end up with 8GB in total. Adding seasons would increase this five-fold, which not only makes downloads unwieldy, but also increases the cost of serving them well beyond what is manageable. And all for what is really just a tweaked colour (although I'm aware that the Alps are a different proposition.)

Having said all that, I do think in New Zealand it is more important and effective to have good autogen coverage than seasons, and autogen is the major part of the time I spend each month.
