Organizing NZFF Group Flight - August 2nd

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

Postby SeanTK » Fri Aug 01, 2014 11:58 am

I recommend that everyone log into the NZFF Teamspeak server AT LEAST 30 minutes prior to the session if you are unfamiliar with multiplayer flying and/or connecting.

The Teamspeak server is the following:

I'll have a go but haven't set up this sort of mp before. I only fly vatsim.

No real difference to VATSIM , IP sent out and it lock and load and off we go , still keep a certain standard with procedure but not as heavy as VATSIM , just a fun joining .

What plane do you recommend for the 'Ian server' Newbie? DC-3?

I think this flight will cater to slower aircraft like the DC-3, but I would recommend flying something (at least of a similar speed) that you are most comfortable with.

So ... for someone who has P3D v2.2 on Win8.1 and has never done MP before, will the various pieces of software from the link above enable me to join tomorrow?
Can someone confirm?
Assuming I can get peace and quiet from the kids, which frankly is unlikely, but you never know...
Cheers

Ok, well I'll see if I get time to look at all that software tomorrow and teamspeak and see how we go.
In the morning, though, I need to 'practice' for my RL microlight XC (Te Awamutu - Matamata - Tokoroa - Te Awamutu) which will take a couple of hours.
We'll see how we go.
Thanks

If the weather plays ball I'll be able to go fly the real thing, but I suspect I'll be practicing on the sim.
I guess I'll find out in the morning.
Night all ... warm bed and good book beckons.

I just wish that someone could come up with a published IP address which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year....like the now defunct NZ Server: INSpire (203.114.130.15) which we used to use for our Multiplayer flights, NZ or elsewhere!
Everyone could dial into the same address and get an instant connection at any time.

That way I/we could connect at any time, pop in, and have a peek to see who is around.

I like popping in and peeking around...(as the Bishop said to the Actress).... winkyy.gif ...!

Paul....in need of a permanent Multiplayer IP address which is always open... biggrin.gif ...!

P.S. Simviation used to have its own permanent Multiplayer IP address: (178.63.253.134)...now faded away due to lack of support.

Ian, do you use FSHost running on your PC as the server? Because FSHost now supports P3D. I could try an FSX-P3D linkup with you some time.

I remember when you showed me MP we typed the IP address directly into FSX. Does that still work or did that functionality end with Gamespy?

I spend eleven months of the year in the UK and one in NZ. I'm hoping to improve that... ;-)

Typing Ian's IP straight into FSX will work.

Slightly less than two hours to go prior to start.
Again, I suggest everyone shows up a bit early to get situation, so call it an hour and a half before start.

Well, the first thing I downloaded to try was the FSHost client v1.4 and I get the error "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect" when I run it, which was supposedly fixed in v1.3 so I guess that's me dead in the water.
Have fun guys.

I just got back in from shops. I didn't think P3Dv2.2 could connect in directly...
