What aircraft are you guys flying in P3D2?

At the moment nothing but the Majestic Q400. Still the best flightsim addon I've ever bought and it works seamlessly in P3D V2.3 with no frame rate hit.

Having been a relatively recent convert to P3D I am trying to choose my scenery and aircraft carefully. I am not even sure how many $$$$ I should commit to it as if they move the platform to 64 bit then everything will be redundant.
Airports are sadly lacking, especially freeware. Some add ons are waiting for the 2.3 update to the Estonia Migration tool before I will install.

In the meantime I am flying the:

Aerosoft Airbus A320 X for me. One of the few things I can use in P3D since A. my ORBX NZ installers don't work and B. The migration tool posted here the other day wrecked my setup and C. Don't know how to manually install anything from FSX in there either...

Yeah I wish I hadn't posted about that freeware migration tool. It sounds like it gave you a lot of grief. Did a system restore not work?
Most FSX scenery can be installed in P3D and works fine. However if it contains any FS9 items then they probably wont appear.

Didn't affect windows, it wrecked my scenery and fsx.cfg files (As in deleted everything in them and the backups aswell) so there was nothing to roll back to. but don't feel too bad, it works for some people and not for others. It's being used a lot to install PMDG products because they won't run up an installer for P3D.

Yeah I would imagine the scenery install would be straight forward, but without installers to do it for ORBX etc (I just get radio button errors) I don't know which files to move (That were placed in folders outside the /ORBX install folders etc)

** Radio button errors only happening on NZ/AU installers and patch installers, my UK/US installers install just fine into P3D

One thing I like about P3D is that you can select aircraft as a 'favorite', and then filter only favorites on the select screen. At the moment my favourites are:

a ported default FSX Bell 206B to test scenery;
Carenado B1900D
Alabeo Staggerwing
...and of course the Cirrus SR22 GTS.

One thing I do like is the Connie as a default tho the models you can get I'm not sure.

PMDG is coming, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Also I think it'll be more expensive than people think as it'll be out of the entertainment licence and into academic and commercial perhaps

The iFly 737 is excellent and my "go to" aircraft. Flies very nicely and has excellent support. You also get the complete range from the 600 to the 900 and BBJ's. It has 2D panels, VC and widesceen support.
The iFly is also capable of flying AF and RF leg types so good for arcs and RNP AR approaches. My only comment is that it can be a little low on FPS in the VC if your system is low spec.
A great flying user friendly aircraft.

PMDG's delay in embracing P3D is disappointing but understandable. Ironically it was PMDG that got me back into flightsimming. I read a review on the 747 Queen of the skies and had to have it. I was impressed with the accuracy.

Any PMDG works in P3D if you use a migration tool. Not sure how good the payware migration tool is, it's only like 10 bucks or something. The freeware one, I would use with caution. It works for some, not for others. Can be a little slice and dicey, but will get PMDG over to P3D when it works

Good to know there is a tool out there to put the list of paywares I have , now called a migration tool , well there go's the word 'port-over' with that tho I'll hold off with P3D till more striking affects come out with it.

It is my understanding that the 777 has been specifically coded so as not to work in P3D. The 737NG may work...until the next SP probably. The Estonia tool works well but it needs updating for 2.3 apparently.

It checks that FSX.exe is running, some tools change P3D.exe to look like FSX.exe so it can work. PMDG are pretty serious about only using FSX so I wouldn't go around advertising the fact if one is using it in P3D

Their own fault for failing to listen to people wanting to use their products in P3D.

My understanding is that it's a licensing issue as Lockheed Martin own P3D and the PMDG 737/777 are officially licensed Boeing products. The two corporations don't seem to like each other very much...

I can't justify spending $100 on an addon for P3D if the publisher won't even support it so looks like I might have to give the iFly a go
