Nice one Bruce, funny isn't it for some reason I always in the back off my mind WWI was in black and white - even the photography of the time, not until we watch a good documentary or war movie the 'Colour of War' shows .

When did your world go from black and white to colour.


our first colour TV my parents bought was in 1973. and all we got was 3 channels BBC1, BBC2 and ITV.

NZ went colour in 1974 for the Commenwealth Games in Christchurch but my parents didn't get a colour Tv (a Pye Vidmatic IIRC) until '76..2 channels back then I think

My dad was the JVC/PYE Rep for Scotland when we lived there. I have a bronze sponsors medal somewhere from the '76 Munich Games I think it was? that was given to him as being part of the sponsor company..

For me , 1974 .... my mum was working for some outfit to do with the games ..... anyway , we ended up with a 600kg Philips K-9 tv . I can still remember those first test pictures .... amazing .

Guess its no point asking JeeKees this, he is colour blind , I did not buy a colour TV mid/late 1980s , most the time I model make or riding bike around the country.
