Time zones....

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

Postby Fozzer » Sat Sep 27, 2014 8:05 pm

I always have to remember that NZ is 12 hours in advance of my time, therefore, to join in a NZ flight at 8 PM in the evening I have to quickly scramble downstairs at 8 AM the same morning, with milk and Corn Flakes all over my keyboard and Joystick!

..and for me to join in a Multiplayer 8 PM (their time) evening flight with my Chums across the Atlantic, who are 5-7 hours behind my time, I have to hang around, and remain awake, until 1 PM to 3 PM in the middle of the bleedin' night, listening to my Rupert Bear grumbling!

My "Fox Clocks" Time Zone indicator* at the bottom of my Firefox Browser, tells me whether or not I can make it for a Multiplayer session at a sensible time of the day!.. winkyy.gif ...!

Paul....lost in the midst of Greenwich Mean Time!.... laugh.gif ...!

Handy household hint/voice of experience:
If a blob of marmalade lepps off your toast and lands in the keyboard, a plastic drinking straw, used as a pipette, will recover the situation (and the marmalade) laugh.gif

I remember a guy who spilled some coffee into his keyboard - quick as a flash, he turned the k/b upside down, at which all the keys fell out icon_redface.gif
(this was a good 20 years ago - the large Oz company I worked for had bulk-bought some really El-cheapo hardware)

thumbup1.gif I'm all for that especially now thanks to EASA. If it's allowed here expect a rise in air rage.

what's a Mobile Phone? unsure.gif

Ian.... winkyy.gif ....
Its one of those funny-looking, oblong things, that can be seen permanently attached to some/most folks ears, as they walk around appearing to be talking to themselves, and totally unaware of their surroundings!

In a few years time I suspect that the devices will be medically embedded within their brains.

(I would like to be given the opportunity to carry out such an operation without applying any form of anaesthetic)... winkyy.gif ...!

Me?....I just write a letter, and stick a stamp on the envelope....Sorted!.... biggrin.gif ....!

Paul....With Pen and Paper.... biggrin.gif ...!

Its a small yuppie device that all teenagers hold to their ear and walk around talking to themselves and if they are not holding it to their ear talking to them selves they have it in their hand looking at it while poking madly at it with a finger or thumb ninja.gif
