Its one off those things in your menu that works sometime being above in the listings, other people and there setups it simply did not work, Foxpine/Foxton was .. is the classic example, first time out no problems , new HDs go into the PC and try it again .. I could not repeat exactly what was showing , so for the ORBX product installed required a secondary scenery to fix .

I don't think you need to worry about turning files .off etc.
I've just done a test and as long as your scenery is higher in the stack it seems to ignore the FTX stuff.
eg I took the default NZWN file in ADE, adjusted the elevation to 8m. (FTX is 12 and a bit) threw an exclude over the airport and compiled it as a separate bgl so I could place it at the top of my scenery folder. 000_NZWN_Excl.
Then in my ADE file, placed a flattern at 8m over the airport. Added my NZWN test folder in FSX at the top and loaded. I didn't have any elevation issues (even though FTX elevation file was still a on) and the airport was at the correct elevation of 8m and none of the FTX objects were visible.

Thanks for that. Yes, most things can be taken care of by priority, which is why I nag a lot about using FTX Central to adjust the FTX insertion point. Normally the 'stub' (the elevation file in Scenery\World\Scenery) needs to be deactivated, but for some reason it works fine on my system with NZWN, so I overlooked it.

Orbx objects should all be gone, as there are excludes in place for these. The old-style ground polys can't be excluded, so I have to disable them.
You have a good grasp of how the elevations work, but I suspect that a lot of people would get a bit confused with all that, hence the need for the installer to try and second-guess most setups.

Ian -- although there are still a lot of pre-FSX objects which I need to replace, I did do a quick library conversion to FSX, which helps with performance a lot. It's the little things which add up.

A thought , you may want to keep a lite scenery file, for the others that may have there lower end systems .. maybe a selling point ?

I was afraid you'd ask me that:)
Deactivate the folder in the Scenery Library (GodzoneNZWN), remove the Godzone NZWN stub in Scenery\World\Scenery, and change the Orbx NZWN files with .off extensions to .bgl.

Rob, I think I am going to disable the Airport for now, too. However, while I found the .off files in ORBX NZNI there's nothing clearly Godzone related under Scenery\World\Scenery. Could you give me a hand?

Thanks and kind regards, Michael

The Godzone stub is called NZWN_ADEX_GVF.BGL
