I finally got it....and eventually got it started ...strange experience on first take off ....was wondering when the tail would come up but then realised I was already several 100 feet over the runway!

Massive contrast the to the Gulfstream parked up at Taupo

It is a Brilliant model smile.gif , yeah 100ft off with realizing it ... its when you put the flaps down on landing and ya almost go backwards, a superbly fun plane ! cool.gif

Also the amazing paints that come with it ! .. you will be pleased with this purchase.

Wonder what's faster..? The ferry or the An2?!

Just tried the flaps on landing (previous were flap less.., mainly because I hadn't worked out how to use them). It's like a giant metal parachute

It pretty much says in the POH, that if you are still too high near the threshold, just close the throttle and give it full flap, at which it will slow to about 35kts IAS and effectively parachute down, with droops and flaps fully deployed.

Try to stall it! I bet you can't! smile.gif

The aeroplane is pretty much at home at a heliport if you have a nice breeze.

Those markings look so freaking familiar!

EDIT: I knew those markings looked familiar, we have a huge poster of this aircraft at the flightschool. Some instructors (strangely the Italian one) is in love with the AN-2. Not to mention we got a visit from one not too long ago. It's an impressive machine, in which you can get your PPL training done apparently. (Polish people are crazy, but I'd do it in a heartbeat if given the chance biggrin.gif)And by the looks of the markings this is an ex-Polish AF AN-2 that's now a civilian plane.

Amazing the connection, that is the scheme and rego it left for the NZ and arrived here in the very same livery and the very same markings still glued to it.

Hopefully not horning in on your thread Paul. Here's one I call 'A room with a view'. A great plane - a toggle switchers' delight.

ahhhh the AN-2 its a very very cool aeroplane, scary to think that the engine is the same one that powers the Polikarpov I-16 and I-153
