Ian, I do believe the XP-75 prototypes were bitsers, with SBD, F4U, and others in there, but the 6x P-75As that were produced were completely original airframes as they found in testing that the combo of parts didnt work to well and when the USAAF changed the requirement from an interceptor to long range penetration fighter, the redesign included wings, empenage, though the wing center section with F4U landing gear. I would have liked to seen them with the full 10 .50cal gun setup
