A little photo recce in a ZK AT6.

A bit of altitude here - pilot's finger nails turning blue.


This must be about the epicenter of the original volcano.

In Akaroa harbour, your just a we ways from Duvauchelle, the spit there is Onawe , back in the 1830s there was Moari Pa, tribe there until one other Moari fella decided to rowed his canoes from the North Island and wiped the Tribe out , Te Rauparaha was that guys name, they were fighting in amongst them selves long before Europeans really settled in New Zealand .

Was Googling about Akaroa and the Peninsula - got up to about FL500. Quite a loss of detail from that altitude.

Tell you one this Dave, that is a superb piece of bike road for the sports bikes ... times you thought you were flying.
