I like the "Blanik". It was in it time an excellent glider in many eastern country´s for the first steps. And is not a "plastic" aircraft. It is metall. Yes with todays standarts the Blanik is outdatet and has not much to do with all these new Orchidees, you can find today. But in the GDR the polish "Bocian" was used.

Funny we were just talking bout with last week with you and Greg, I only 8 or so flights, really enjoyed Wigram ... almost like you wished for it smile.gif

New Zealand is a glider pilots paradies right? Think, the alps must have a lot of potential for mountain soring.
For long flights... On North island around of all those volcanos to?

More gliding hot spots or renowned in the mid to lower South Island, tho we do have some glider pro's here who have the better no of the North Island hot spots.

Meanwhile I have "flown" a little bit over Hawaii. It is more work as with modern gliders, but you can make nice trips with this aircraft.
