It's the Mother of AirTruck - pity she didn't pass on her good looks to her offspring!

Correct! laugh.gif
It's actually quite old I discover - the Kaman Huskie first flew in the 1950's, another product of German Aerospace poached under Operation Paperclip post WW2. Quite a clever design if you think about it - note the down-pointing tailpipe which must add a smidgeon of lift.
A strange company too, Kaman; they make amongst other things, ball bearings for cockpit flight controls blink.gif

biggrin.gif Slap !* , probably one of the most useful and seriously well thought out early design's ever, a box with a hole in the back and a disk that if ya no whats in front is also safe in the back, Twas the Russians who followed suit sorta again following the western lead with the Kamov first then to the 'Helix'

Two rotor blades set at the ..... at start up and you have chopped off rotor blades just a few feet long

The concept worked so well .. fact was one off the safest ideas and even bet the twins like the the Seaknight and Chinook , two engines to a single gearbox tho the earlies were single power the later were upgraded because they found the idea so safe with intermeshing rotors , all this come from a WWII design.

They are a very handy or were a handy helicopter specifically used and well known in the Vietnam war and most US air force bases for rescue and lift, in Vietnam nicknamed 'Pedro' , one many things they did was carry a bucket foam retard to kill the fire, dump it and medvac the wounded crew ASAP to either a hospital ship or nearest hospital , It dose look more aggressive in military dress.

The Thing: What an excellent day for an exorcism.
Father Damien Karras: You would like that?
The Thing: Intensely.
Father Damien Karras: But wouldn't that drive you out of helicopter?
The Thing: It would bring us together.
Father Damien Karras: You and the helicopter?
The Thing: You and us.

OK I just had to do that. Wonder if anyone else remembers that conversation
